Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Welcome to the Special Educational Needs section of our school website. Here you can find our SEN policy, SEN information report and Local Offer. If you would like further information on the Local Offer please follow the link to the Sheffield Directory.

At Southey Green Primary School and Nurseries, to support children with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities we will:

  • Offer an equitable education so that children are given the support they need to experience the wide ranging curriculum alongside peers and are included fully in all activities during the school day and beyond.
  • Provide children with experiences to enable high aspirations, social assets, cultural capital and social mobility so they are successful in their next stage of education and beyond.
  • Design support for individuals with family and children's long-term goals and aspirations at the centre.
  • Ensure children have the necessary life skills to be as independent as possible and to keep themselves safe in and out of the home and in relationships with others.

Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO) is Jonny Marples.
