On Saturday 16th July 2016 Southey Green Primary School held its very first CAR BOOT sale to raise money for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
The sun shone for us and we had a fantastic day with stalls, tombola, music & DJ, BBQ, ice cream van, giant board games, face painting and much much more…….
People of the community came and supported us in this much appreciated fundraising event by either purchasing a pitch for their car or spending their hard earned cash on some of the exciting activities and stalls we had on the day.
Staff and pupils from the student council busied themselves for weeks planning and preparing for this first time event to make sure that everything went as smoothly as possible on the day and the support from parent volunteers: Wendy Whitehouse, Jayne Dudley, Charleanne Doherty & Pat Darwin, Wendy Taylor made it possible to man lots of stalls; we even enlisted the help of the school Eco-Warriors: Travis Whitehouse & Ruby Dudley who can be seen here collecting any rubbish from the school grounds.
All our efforts paid off and we raised a very respectable £459.89 and a cheque is on its way to Bluebell Wood, a huge thankyou to all those who volunteered or took part in this great day and we will look forward to making plans for the next one!
